1. Complex Analysis (Ref.1§6,7,
Ref.2§1~7; 8 weeks):
a. Complex algebra, functions, Cauchy-Rimann Conditions
(CRC)
b. Complex integration: Cauchy's integral theorem and formula
c. Series Representations: Taylor expansion, Laurent series
d. Mapping: Conformal mapping, Mobius (Moebius) transformation
e. Calculus of residues: Improper integral, Cauchy Principal Value,
Definite integral, Method of steepest descent (saddle point method)
2. Special functions (Ref.1§10~13; 5 weeks):
a. Gamma (Factorial) and Beta functions
b. Bessel functions
c. Legendre functions
d. Spherical harmonics
3. Fourier Transform (Ref.1§15; Ref.2§8; Ref.3§12;
1 weeks):
a. Convolution/deconvolution theorem,
b. Correlation theorem
c. Fast/finite Fourier transforms (FFT)
4. Matlab & Mathematica (2 weeks): how
to use the software
